The previous post summed it up, consolidation is not new and has been unimpressive so far.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But... this is google.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I liked your comment on Android and that could be the key if they allow an effective and easy to use filter for social data to the device.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've been playing with Android for about 6 months.  Initially it was not good and the whole approach with apps, documentation (the extreme lack) and support said to me it was not a priority for google.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, the dev community is building a little more organically (than compared to say the iPhone splash).
